No matter how much anger you feel, you have no need an excuse or an explanation. although it is not the healthiest feeling to have, for the most part it's uncomfortable but only harmful if it is chronic. The behaviors that lead to chronic anger are the desire and attempts to avoid feeling the feeling on the one hand and on the other, the active practice of aggression and hostility as another way to avoid having the feeling. What would happen if you simply allowed the feeling of anger to be there (since it's there already) and made room for having it. The question then comes down to, what is more important to you than acting on the anger (look for values on angerflex) and how do you make that the focus rather than the feeling of anger?

Good suggestions! When I go to the doctor or the DMV, I take a book or magazine with me. It gets my mind off the clock.

This reminds me of Eckart Tolle's teachings. Stepping back and understanding what is happening in the heat of the moment has greatly improved my ability to control anger.
